My name is Sarah and in about a month I will be moving out of the sf bay area to go to school down there. I dont get out of the bay area much (mostly for my lack of driving skills) but I was wondering what things are like in SLO. I was there for about 24 hours looking at the school but that was it. Over all it seems like a nice friendly little spot with nice weather but I would like to know anything or everything about it before I get there.

What places are there to hang out? Eat? Dance? Party? What's fun there? What is there to do besides studying? Any information will help. Thanks

It's a little close to LA for my taste, but it certainly seems to have a small town charm.
"Its always a loaded compliment to yoke an artist to a critical darling, but its simply impossible to listen to n.Lannon without hearing the ghostly footfalls of Elliott Smith. Lannon shares with Smith a penchant for submerged melody in washed out chords, but he super-cedes Smith in his smoothly executed risks, unafraid to cut the pop reins and let a song drop into an ambient free-for-all. Supplementing his audibly plucked guitar notes with slowly articulated bones, Lannon's songs thread in keyboards with a quiet, atmospheric depth that emerges from a backdrop so recessed and organically subtle that it may as well be the songs unconscious, like Sugar Ros doing a Nick Drake tribute records that far exceeds the one that just hit the stores this season."
